Simple card fronts for a Team Swap – Perennial Lavender Suite

Hello

Today, I’m sharing the simple card fronts that I made for a recent team swap using the gorgeous Perennial Lavender Suite Collection by Stampin’ Up! (162613). The whole suite caught my eye but I simply fell in love with the purple tones in the Perennial Lavender 12″ x 12″ dsigner series paper (162593). Look at everything you get in the collection.

The first card I’m sharing has the Highland Heather card front on it and I also made a Gorgeous Grape version, which you can see me make in a free tutorial either by clicking the image below or in the YouTube video later in this post.

Team Swaps

Last weekend I attended a Team Craft & Chat day that my lovely upline Emma Goddard, Coastal Crafter, organised for us. Our team gets together face to face every few months and in between we craft together online. As is usual on these occasions, we “swapped” projects with each other. What this means is that we make a certain number of identical projects and then swap these with projects by other demos. It’s such a fun way to share ideas and, usually, receive lots of yummy treats! Below you can see all the swaps.

If you would like to join my team and come along to future events there are still a few days left to take advantage of the current joining offer. Join during Sale-a-Bration (until 29 February 2024) and you can build your starter kit by choosing £130 of products and only pay £99 (including shipping). Plus you get to choose one of two FREE bonus options. If you have any questions or would like to know more about the benefits of joining get in touch or click here to join my team. You won’t regret it!

To swap or not to swap?

Taking part in team swaps is optional and I don’t do it every time but I was itching to create with this wonderful suite, so I said yes this time. Some of the team made full cards, or like me a card front, while others 3D projects filled with chocolates and other treats. For me the easiest way of making multiples like this is to do all the stamping, cutting, embossing etc and then assemble them.

Taking inspiration from the designer series paper

Inspired by the Perennial Lavender paper, I stamped the flowers from the Painted Lavender stamp set using Fresh Freesia, Gorgeous Grape and Highland Heather ink and the stems in Shades Spruce and Pretty Peacock. Because I find making identical projects hard, half of my card fronts Gorgeous Grape and the rest Highland Heather. The stamped images were die cut with the co-ordinating Painted Lavender dies and if you buy them as a bundle they are 10% cheaper or as part of the Perennial Lavender suite collection.

Perennial Postage Dies

You can create your own die-cut postage stamps of all sizes with the Perennial Postage dies. There are 12 dies in the set with the largest 9.5 x 12.7cm. To make the size of postage stamp I wanted for my project, I used the largest die and slice the die cut in half before embossing the pieces with the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder. I also used the smallest postage stamp die to create a sweet tag for my lavender stems.

How I made my Team Swaps

Starting with a base layer measuring 10.2 x 14.5cm, I glued the embossed postage stamp piece of basic white in place, covering the raw edge with a 2.5 x 14.5cm strip of designer series paper. The three lavender stems were added with glue and mini dimensionals. Next I tied a linen bow and popped it in place with a mini glue dot. The sentiment for my team swaps was from the Country Bouquet stamp set and the Perennial Postage stamp set on the card I made in the video below.

If you would like to buy any of the products I’ve talked about you can either click on the links in the post or the photo’s below to go to that item in my Stampin’ Up! online shop. An of course If you would like more information about shopping with me click this link.

That’s all from me today, as always, thanks for stopping by and obviously remember to keep it crafty.
