Be Inspired Blog Hop – Clean and Simple

Hello, my crafty friends! 👋

Welcome to the first Be Inspired Blog Hop of 2026! Our theme this month is Clean and Simple.

If you’re hopping along, you’ll know you’re in very good company — this hop brings together a wonderfully talented group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators from around the world, and I’m so grateful to be crafting beside them. If you aren’t starting the hop here, then you have probably come here from my lovely friend Heather Thomas. All the links for the blog hop are at the end of my post, so you can click on the each of the links and see all of our Be Inspired projects.

As an avid crafter, I’ll admit that clean and simple can often be a challenge for me – I do love my fun folds, layers and embellishments! That said, this style is perfect for beginners and a great reminder that you really don’t need a lot of supplies to create beautiful cards. You can click here to see another example of clean and simple design.

For today’s hop, I’ve created four clean and simple baby cards using the adorable Cutest Onesie bundle from Stampin’ Up!. When designing simple cards, I find it really helps to focus on one main image, and for all four cards I’ve stamped the onesie in Secret Sea ink to keep everything cohesive and uncluttered.

What does Clean and Simple mean in

The focus of clean and simple card design is minimalism, with lots of white space (or negative space) to create an uncluttered look, a limited color palette, and just one or two key elements like a single image and sentiment, often with minimal layering for a fresh, modern, and easy-to-read aesthetic that emphasizes quality over quantity.

Along with the Cutest Onesie bundle, I used one of the Snowy Delights Decorative Masks to add subtle background interest to two of the cards with a blending brush. These cards feature a Basic White card base and mat layer, letting the soft texture from the mask do the work without overwhelming the design.

The other two cards feature coloured card bases with a white layer that’s been partially embossed using different 3D embossing folders – Mini Corrugated and Dotted Circles – just enough detail to add interest while still keeping that clean and simple feel.

The simpler designs are both new baby cards and the other cards are perfect for welcoming a sweet boy and a sweet girl, proving that even minimal designs can still feel thoughtful and special. The die cut circle elements and partial embossing add extra dimension but keeps with the simple theme.

Thank you so much for stopping by today — and for hopping along with us this month. Clean and simple may push me out of my comfort zone, but it’s such a rewarding style – and a fantastic place to start if you’re new to card making or you need to make a quick card. I hope these cards inspire you to create a Clean and Simple cards of your own. Next up on the hop is another fabulous demonstrator, the lovely Andrea Sargent, so click through and keep the inspiration flowing!

Happy crafting 💜
