How to make a gift box for a sweet treat

Happy Sunday!

Today I’m sharing how quick and easy it is to make a simple gift box for a sweet treat or other small gift. I made these cute boxes for all my class attendees earlier this month and for a team swap. Inside was a sweet treat for Easter (a chocolate bunny) so I used the Easter Bunny stamp set from the Stampin’ Up! January – April 2023 mini catalogue.

For most of my boxes (I remembered to take a photo of the first lot I made) I used some of the pretty Dandy Designs designer series paper as I had earned a couple of packs free during Sale-a-bration. For the box above, which you can watch me make in the quick video tutorial below, I used a piece of the pretty Hues of Happiness dsp from the Stampin’ Up! 2022-23 Annual catalogue. This dsp is one of my favourites and you can see a few other projects that I’ve made with it by clicking here and here.

The gift box was made to fit a chocholate bunny that I found in my local supermarket and was quick to make. After making the first one, I realised I could cut a 12″ x 12″ sheet of basic white to make six bottoms without any waste. Equally there was only a little left over from a 12″ x 12″ sheet of the designer series paper after cutting the top pieces.

I also made these simple gift boxes for swaps at our last team get together. Here’s a photo of all the swaps including mine. Swapping is a great way to get samples of card layouts and boxes from your team. The chocolates and treats didn’t last long LOL! For my swaps I used ribbon from my stash to hold the box together so the treats didn’t slip out in transit.
