Happy Sunday!
Today I want to show you how to use patterned paper to make some really gorgeous Christmas cards. The paper I chose for these cards is Lights Aglow 6″ x 6″ Speciality Designer Series Paper from the Jul – Dec 2022 Stampin’ Up! mini catalogue. It is so pretty!
The first card was my entry for last week’s Global Design Project theme challenge – Winter #GDP371. So you can imagine my delight when on Monday I found out it had been selected as one of the three winners. So exciting! It’s funny really because it was made from bits left over from the first card I made, which you can see below.
Another gorgeous Christmas card
This next card was designed for another challenge – this one was a sketch challenge set by my lovely friend and Team Leader, Emma Goddard, in her Facebook group The Stamping Cove. Every month this year she has set us (the Design Team) a challenge and I’ve really enjoyed taking part along with the rest of the amazingly talented design team.
For all the cards, I start with a card base of Evening Evergreen because I think it goes beautifully with the Lights Aglow 6″ x 6″ specialty designer series paper. To highlight the gold in the paper I add a bit of gold foil, trim or ribbon. After cutting and gluing the pinecone layers together I trimmed them to use on two cards rather than using the whole thing on one card. I don’t know about you but I always think heat embossing adds a touch of elegance to projects so the sentiments are heat embossed in white on more Evening Evergreen. Tiny red pearls add a splash of additional colour.
Two more gorgeous Christmas cards
In the video later in this post I show you how easy it is to make two more gorgeous christmas cards using the same layout, although I do change it up a little as I like to make each of my handmade cards individual.
For two of the cards I added one of the Textural Elements. The first time I added colour with an Evening Evergreen Stampin’ Blend and Pearlized Enamel Effects Basics in Real Red and the second time I heat embossed in gold. They both look great don’t they?
