Hi my crafty friends
I hope you’re well. I’m a little late with my blog post and video as I spent Sunday in the garden and with friends.
Today I’m sharing cards made with the lovely Bloom & Grow stamp set from Stampin’ Up! The Budding Blooms dies co-ordinate with this photopolymer set and at the moment you can purchase them together as a bundle and save 10%!
The card below is the one I make in my latest tutorial which you can watch by clicking the link below. It is another example of #simplestamping (which believe it or not I find a real struggle) and I think it’s really stylist and elegant.
Supplies:
Thick whisper white card base cut @ 21cm x 14.9cm, scored at 10.5cm.
Whisper white card cut @ 9.5cm x 13.9cm.
Bloom & Grow stamp set
Memento black ink
Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight, Granny apple green, Petal Pink blender pens (all light)
Basic adhesive backed sequins (pearl white)
Below is a card we made in class this week. The Calypso Coral layer is embossed with the Subtle embossing folder – I do love this folder. Granny Apple Green and Calypso Coral blender pens were used to colour the images. The ribbon is textured weave in granny apple green and the sentiment is heat embossed with black emboss powder. Happiness Blooms enamel dots and retired pearls add the finishing touch.
Below is my first attempt at a floating frame card – it was fiddly but well worth the effort. I first saw the technique demonstrated by the very talented Jennifer McGuire from the USA but have only just had a go. Each of the three floral images were stamped twice, coloured with blender pens and die cut with the Budding Blooms dies. I arranged them on a piece of scrap paper using temporary adhesive and die cut the appeture in the middle using one of the layering squares dies, trimmed the edges and then made the two cards adding the die cuts with dimensionals on thick whisper white card bases.
Below is another card using this set. The base is So Saffron and the whisper white layer is again embossed with the subtles folder. The sentiment is heat embossed in gold on a Stitched Shapes oval diecut. The main focal flowers are also heat embossed in gold on watercolour paper and coloured with aqua painters and reinkers. The smaller flowers were stamped and heat embossed before using the subtles embossing folder so they appear to be beneath the diecut focal image. I had a few stray bits of gold heat embossing which I covered with tiny butterflies from the Butterfly Beauty dies.
