Birthday Celebrations

Hello my crafty friends,

How has it been over two months since my last post … I knew it had been a while but not that long!!  It has been such a strange couple of months – one day feels like it’s groundhog day and another feels like it’s on fast forward!!  Restrictions in the UK are slowly being lifted but it’s a little confusing. We are still being told to stay alert and control the virus by staying at home as much as possible, work from home if we can, limit contact with other people, social distance and wash our hands regularly.

I miss my lovely ladies who come to class and so we can stay in touch have organised video calls on the night we would have been having class. It’s lovely to “see” everyone even if it is virtually to have a natter and catch up.

I am really enjoying “going to” some virtual classes that another very talented Stampin’ Up! demonstrator (Emma Goddard – Coastal Crafter) hosts. It’s brilliant fun crafting with lots of lovely ladies from our own homes. If I could work out how to set it all up I’d try to host classes on line but my technical skills have failed me so far!

Other than that I’ve mostly been making cards for friends and family. I thought today I would quickly share the special cards I made for my Dad, who celebrated his 80th birthday on Tuesday.  The card below is from me and my husband. It’s a box card so folds flat (or should have done) with 80 … yes 80…. stamped candles. I used a retired set to stamp the candles and Family Party for the sentiment which is heat embossed in white.  Very pleased with the way this card turned out.

The next card was made for my aunt and uncle. It was CASEd (copy and share everything) from a lovely card I found on Pinterest that you can see here and apart from the basic black base, grey and white cardstock, everything else I used has retired. My sister-in-law was interested to see how this was made so if I can get my finger out I’ll do a video!

Last, but by no means least, is the card I made for my Mum – she always sends humerous cards – I chuckled to myself the whole time I was making it. I had seen smaller versions on Pinterest and decided to make in A5 one.

As
always, thanks for popping by, I promise not to leave it so long next time. Stay safe, be kind and remember keep it crafty.
