Hello from Forever Fern

Hello my friends and welcome to my blog

I’m back with my entry for this weeks Global Design Project #GDP250 and it’s a fabulous sketch challenge – sadly I’m too late as entries closed earlier – what a numpty!!!

Oh well, I’m still going to share my card and would love to know what you think of it if you have time so please leave a comment below or over on Instagram.

To make the card, I used Seaside Spray card cut @ 15.8cm x 21cm and scored @ 10.5cm. I added a layer of Very Vanilla cut @ 9.5cm x 13.8cm to the front, embossed with the Brick & Mortar embossing folder. The next layer is vellum cut @ 10cm x 14.4cm. I stamped one of the stamps from the Forever Fern stamp set multiple times using Misty Moonlight ink before adding clear embossing powder and heat setting it. I do love heat embossing – it’s like magic. I trimmed the vellum to 8.5cm x 13cm, keeping the long strip for the inside. Adding vellum to a project can be a little tricky but I use mini glue dots behind embossed areas so you can’t see the glue. Taking a small piece of Seaside Spray I stamped the word Hello in versamark and then in Misty Moonlight, add clear embossing powder and just like that you’ve got coloured embossing. I find with cardstock you need to use versamark as the card is more pourous. I used one of the Forever Flourishing dies to die cut 3 identical very vanilla flourishs and added them to create a circle. I trimmed the sentiment down with snips to create a banner and added them with mini dimensionals. 3 clear epoxy droplets add the finishing touch.

For the inside I stamped the sentiment in Misty Moonlight and added the strip of velum to another piece of very vanilla cut @ 10.2cm x 14.5cm.

I’m giggle to myself for missing the deadline to join the challenge but hopefully lesson learned to be more organised!! I’ve had a busy week and do have a lot on my mind at the moment.  I even made a video that you can see now I’ve had time to edit it.

You can purchase any of the items I used from my Stampin’ Up! on-line store by clicking on the photo’s below. Forever Fern stamp set and Forever Flourishing dies come as a bundle at the moment so you save 10% and remember for every £45 you spend before 3 August (catalogue price before shipping and handling), you earn a £4.50 Bonus Days coupon code to use between 4–31 August. You should also use the current Host code (which you can find in the top right hand corner of my blog) if your order is between £25 and £150 to get a FREE thank you gift from me the next month.

As
always, thanks for popping by and remember keep it crafty.
