Hello and welcome to my blog,
Today I’m sharing two elegant Christmas cards made with the Arrange a Wreath Bundle from the current Stampin’ Up! annual catalogue. At the moment the Arrange a Wreath photopolymer stamp set and co-ordinating Wreath Builder dies can be bought together as a bundle so you save 10%. Do you like them?
This was my first play with this set and I wanted to change it up a little so made these cards 5″ x 7″ so larger than usual. The wreaths are definitely big enough to fill the space! To make it look as if the wreaths are hanging over a door, I used some wood texture (retired) designer series paper from my stash. For my prototype below I also used some gorgeous gold ribbon and mini pearls (both sadly retired). The stamped layer is Mossy Meadow and the top layer of the wreath is old olive.
I have uploaded the free tutorial on to my YouTube channel of the second version (there’s a link later in this post) so you can see how quick and easy these cards are to put together. I will be making more as I love the way they look probably trying different combinations of green so they all look a little different. What are you go to greens?
Layering the die cut wreaths on top of a stamped layer gives lots of lovely dimension. Layering the die cuts also help make the flowers look more realistic.
Instructions:
Thick Whisper White card cut @ 7″ x 10″ score @ 5″ to create the card base
Poppy Parade card cut @ 4 ⅛” x 6 ⅛”
DSP cut @ 4″ x 6″
Use the Stamparatus to stamp the wreath in Garden Green and the sentiment in Soft Suede
Cut 2 wreaths; 1 in Mint Macaron and the other in Garden Green. Glue on top of the stamped wreath and each other.
Thread the linen twine at the top of the top layer of the wreath and tape on the back of the dsp.
Die cut 6 x large flowers from the Poppy Parade piece and 3 x ¼” circles. Layer two flowers onto each circle to make 3 x flowers
Die cut 4 x medium flowers, 2 x smallest flowers and 2 x tiny circles from a piece of Whisper White card. Layer 2 x medium and 1 x smallest flowers on to each tiny circle.
Glue the dsp to the poppy parade layer before adding to the base and arrange the flowers around the wreath.
Add Gilded Gems to the centre of each Poinsettia and Champagne Rhinestones on the white flowers.
I would love to know what you think so please leave me a comment below.
