I’m back today to share three more Christmas cards made with the Brightly Gleaming Specialty designer series paper. A while back I shared some One Sheet Wonders, which is a technique where you make a set of cards from a single sheet of designer paper. So when I came across the rest of the sheet of Brightly Gleaming DSP on my craft desk I had to use it to make more cards. I’m trying to use my stash rather than “collect” it!!
In my last post the cards were A6, so I opted to make tall cards using the Poinsettia Petals bundle again with the DSP. I’ve just checked and my cards are slightly taller than a standard DL. I have shared these cards on a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator only Facebook Group and have been absolutely blown away by all the love, support and encouragement everyone has given me. Stampin; Up! is such a wonderful company to be a part of.
Card 1:
- Cut Thick Very Vanilla card @ 21cm x 21cm and scored @ 10.5cm
- Cut Pretty Peacock @ 9.5cm x 20cm and cut a large label using Ornate Layers
- Cut Brightly Gleaming Specialty DSP @ 9cm x 19.5cm and glue to the front of the card base
- Stamp the sentiment from Poinsettia Petals in Pretty Peacock on Very Vanilla card, cut a small label using Ornate Layer and glue to Pretty Peacock label and add to card with dimensionals
- Stamp 6 x small Poinsettias in Soft Sea Foam on Very Vanilla and cut with Poinsettia dies
- Cut and emboss 1 x Pretty Peacock small Poinsettia, trim and add to flower with glue dots.
- Arrange flower around labels and add with multipurpose glue
- Add Clear Wink of Stella to the flowers
- Stamp sentiment from Pointsettia Petals in Pretty Peacock and Poinsettia in Soft Sea Foam on inside.
Card 2 (on left):
- Cut Very Vanilla @ 21cm x 21cm scored @ 10.5cm
- Cut Night of Navy card @ 10cm x 20.5cm
- Cut Brightly Gleaming Specialty DSP @ 10cm x 14.3cm and trim diagonally from corner to corner, flip top and bottom triangles and glue to Night of Navy card
- Cut 1 x Night of Navy large Layering Circles scalloped die
- Cut 1 x Very Vanilla largest Stitched Shapes circle and glue onto scalloped circle and add to card
- Cut and emboss 1 x small and 1 x medium Pretty Peacock flowers with Poinsettia dies and layer
- Cut 1 x Copper foil medium poinsettia and trim into two pieces and glue behind flower
- Stamp Merry Christmas in Pretty Peacock on Very Vanilla, fussy cut and add with dimensionals
- Glue Beaded Pearls to centre of the flower
- Stamp sentiment from Pointsettia Petals in Pretty Peacock on the inside.
Card 3 (on right):
- Cut Very Vanilla @ 21cm x 21cm scored @ 10.5cm
- Cut Pretty Peacock card @ 10cm x 20.5cm and cut Stitched Nested Label
- Cut Brightly Gleaming Specialty DSP @ 10cm x 14.3cm and glue to Pretty Peacock card
- Cut Brightly Gleaming Specialty DSP @ 1cm x 10cm
- Stamp the sentiment from Wrapped in Christmas in Night of Navy on Very Vanilla card, cut a label using Stitched Nested Labels, glue to Pretty Peacock label and add to card with dimensionals
- Cut 4 x Night of Navy small poinsettias, layer and add to labels
- Cut 2 x Copper foil sprigs and glue under labels
- Glue Champagne Rhinestones to the centre of each flower
- Stamp sentiments from Pointsettia Petals in Pretty Peacock on the inside.
After assembling all the cards, I added some Clear Wink of Stella to the flowers – to add that extra bit of glittery loveliness. As you can see I used a lot of different dies to make the labels but most of them were lying around from other projects. I’m trying really hard to use up as many of the bits and pieces that I’ve got already cut.
