Hello – welcome to my blog and a very belated Happy New Year
I’m coming on to share a card inspired by this weeks challenge over on the Global Design Project #GDP273 – it’s not a colour combination I would usually use but Soft Sea Foam, Petal Pink and Night of Navy are rather lovely together.
Sadly I missed the deadline so didn’t enter my card! I don’t know what’s wrong with me, crafting is my therapy and brings me joy but I have lost my mojo for the moment. I suspect it has something to do with being in lockdown number 3 and the cold weather but that may just be excuses!
I wanted to keep my card simple and decided to use the gorgeous Dragonfly Garden stamp set from the new Jan – June 2021 mini catalogue.
I love how it turned out. The base is Petal pink. Using an acrylic block and Soft Sea Foam, Petal Pink and Night of Navy Stampin’ Write Markers (you can get the same effect with our classic ink pads) I added ink to the surface of the block before spritzing with water and placing down onto a piece of whisper white card. When completely dry I stamped the gorgeous floral image from Dragonfly Garden stamp set in Memento and used one of the Stitched Rectangles dies to cut a panel before adding to a slightly larger piece of Night of Navy card. I stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set on another piece of whisper white and cut with another one of the Stitched Rectangle dies. I stamped the same floral image in Petal Pink on the base and in Soft Sea Foam on the sentiment panel. The sentiment panel was also added to a sightly larger piece of Night of Navy card.
I spritzed everything with a homemade shimmer spray made with some of our Frost White Shimmer Paint. The sparkle doesn’t show in the photos but it’s absolutely fabulous in real life! Both panels are added to the base with dimensionals and three basic rhinestones add the finishing touch to the card front.
The inside is kept equally simple and I will add the same floral image to the envelope before popping in the post.
