Hello – welcome to my blog,
Today I’m back to share my entry for this week’s Global Design Project challenge. #GDP275 is a theme challenge and it’s all about love, perfect as it’s Valentine’s Day next month. So here is my card.
The Design Team cards are all amazing and so inspirational – find them here along with all the entries. Challenges really help me when I’m struggling for ideas.
When I saw the theme, I knew straight away that I wanted to use the cute “love heart” from the Wreath Builder dies and decided to pair that up with the Playful Alphabet dies so I could die cut the words either side of the “love heart”. To make the words pop I added a piece of the Rainbow Glimmer Paper underneath – have you seen it, it is absolutely gorgeous and adds a fabulous sparkle.
I used one of our new blending brushes (they come in a pack of three) to add a soft hint of Magenta Madness, Gorgeous Grape, Bermuda Bay and Granny Apple Green (to match the glimmer paper) around the edges of the white panel. I also added Gorgeous Grape and Bermuda Bay with the brushes around the edge of the heart to make it pop. Using the same colours, I used one of the stamps from Tasteful Textures to add texture around the edge – stamping off several times to make the ink lighter in colour.
I stamped one of the sentiments from Handsomely Suited in Versamark on a piece of gorgeous grape and heat embossed with white emboss powder before punched it out with the Classic Label punch. I then punched three hearts from the rainbow glimmer paper using the Dog Builder punch. The heart, label and hearts were added to the card with mini dimensionals.
I made this simpler monochromatic version to give to my hubby on Valentine’s Day. He doesn’t read my blog so I’m not worried about him seeing it!
Check out the little video I made below. Please consider subscribing to my YouTube channel if you haven’t already. If I get to 1,000 subscribers I’ll be able to do live video’s – that’s on my goals for this year as well as trying to work out how to do Facebook Lives.
If you’re interested in buying any of the products used just click on the photos below to go to my Stampin’ Up On-line store. Remember to use the current Host code which you can find at the top right of my blog if your order is between £25 and £150 to get a handmade card and FREE gift from me.
As always, thanks for stopping by and remember keep it crafty.
