Hello and welcome to my blog
I’m back again to share my entry for the weekly Global Design Project challenge.
For #GDP280 we are CASEing a card made by Janneke Dijkstra de Jong, a talented GDP team member from the Netherlands.
CASE = Copy and Selectively Edit
So when you CASE a project you take what you like from the design – it can be the stamp set, the colors, the layout, the theme, the images – and make a card of your own.
Here’s the lovely project that we are CASEing this week:
I sadly needed to make a card for a friend who recently lost her husband and had Tasteful Touches and Heal Your Heart stamp sets on my craft desk. I decided to CASE the layout but took inspiration for my colours from a top I was wearing – Misty Moonlight, Rococo Rose and Misty Moonlight.
I love getting inspiration from things around me. Where do you get your inspiration from?
Products used
Stamps: Tasteful Touches and Heal Your Heart (SAB 2021)
Paper: Rococco Rose (16.3cm x 24cm scored @ 12cm and a 1.5cm strip), Misty Moonlight (10cm x 14.3cm), Basic White (9.5cm x 13.8cm, 11.5cm x 15.8cm, 1/4 sheet for stamping and 2cm strip), Seaside Spray (2cm strip)
Inks: Misty Moonlight, Rococo Rose and Seaside Spray
Punches: Triple Banner and 2″ Circle
Accessory: 2019-2021 In-Color Faceted Dots
Tools & Adhesive: Paper Snips, Multipurpose glue, Mini Dimensionals, Tear and Tape
I started by stamping a random pattern using one of the smaller stamps from Tasteful Touches using Seaside Spray ink on the white card. Next I ran the piece through my embossing machine with the Tasteful Textiles 3D embossing folder and glued on Misty Moonlight card. I stamped a feather in each of the three colours and fussy cut them using my paper snips. I punched a 2″ velum circle and added to the panel with a small piece of Tear & Tape before arranging the feathers over the circle with glue and dimensionals. I next stamped the sentiment on a strip of white card. Then using the Triple Banner punch (my first Stampin’ Up! purchase) created the banners from strips of Rococo Rose, Seaside Spray and the White sentiment strip. For a final touch I added three of the Rococo Rose Faceted Dots. The whole panel is then glued to the card front.
On the inside piece of white I stamped the sentiment in Misty Moonlight and the flower stamped off twice in Rococo Rose.
I will share a video over on my YouTube Channel shortly as soon as I’ve done a bit of editing but wanted to make sure my card was posted before the GDP deadline.
I can’t believe that today is the last day of Sale-a-bration – I haven’t been very good at marketing that this year but some of my ladies have managed to grab themselves some of the lovely SAB products FREE with an order of £45 or more.
If you would like to buy any of the products used simply click on the photos below to go to my Stampin’ Up On-line store. Remember to use the current Host code which you can find at the top right of my blog if your order is between £25 and £150 to get a handmade card and FREE gift from me.
As always, thanks for stopping by, stay safe and remember keep it crafty.
