Hello – welcome to my blog
This week the Global Design Project have a theme challenge for us and it’s all about treats. So I decided to make a card with a basket full of strawberries – yum!!
As always there is lots of inspiration from the design team over on the Global Design Project website.
The strawberries, leaves and flowers are all fussy cut from the Berry Delightful designer series paper (retired from Sale-A-Bration 2021) from my stash. The strawberries look almost good enough to eat don’t they! To make the basket, I used strips of basic white paper with crumb cake ink added with a blending brush. I trimmed the woven piece into two pieces and layered them to create a bit of dimension. Inn the video below, I show you how easy it is to weave the basket. The braided linen trim (also retired) is tied that round the basket before gluing it to the front panel.
The sentiment from Berry Blessings (a retired stamp set from Sale-A-Bration 2021) was heat embossed with white emboss powder on Granny Apple Green. I then used the Label Me Fancy Punch to create the label – I used a neat trick to extend the label. I show you how easy it is to do this in the video below.
I made a free tutorial of this smaller version for my YouTube channel. After I finished the video I realised I had forgotten to add rhinestones to the centre of the little flowers so to change it up a little I used some Shimmery Crystal Effects – which is a product I often forget about.
