I promised to show you more cards featuring the fabulous Delivering Cheer stamp set from the August to December 2021 Stampin’ Up! mini catalogue. This is one of my favourites and is ideal if you enjoy colouring, paper piecing or mixing and matching the stamped images.
How cute is this card? I think it has a real vintage feel.
The card base is Real Red with a layer of designer series paper (a freebie from our last Sale-a-bration). Real Red was added around the end of the designer series paper with a blending brush to add a bit of depth. I wanted the focal point on my card to be a lady with an arm full of presents so to start I stamped these on a Basic White panel in Memento. I was going to simply add colour with Stampin’ Blends and then decided to stamp the skirt a second time on a piece of designer series paper, fussycut and placed it over the stamped skirt. This technique is called paper piecing and is such an easy way to add a pretty design and use paper from our stash. I attached the panel to the dsp with dimensionals. The sentiment is from a retired set – such a lovely mix of fonts. Basic Black behind both panels really make them pop. Black Glittery Organdy ribbon down the left hand side adds a lovely bit of sparkle. A strip of designer series paper was added to a layer of Basic White on the inside to tie it all together.
The next card is a green version and was one of the projects at my class earlier in the month. The card base is Garden Green and I added Evening Evergreen to the outside edge of the designer series panel with a blending brush to add some definition. Behind both panels is Real Red card to match the red of the parcels.
I decided not to add ribbon to this card. Do you have a favourite – Red or Green? I can’t decide!
The last card uses the same layout but has some untraditional Christmas colours. The card base is Thick Basic White with a panel of Fresh Fressia. A 7cm strip of Evening Evergreen Shimmer Velum embossed with one of the Wintry 3D embossing folders was added to the left hand side and Evening Evergreen ribbon tied. This time I simply stamped the two images and coloured with blends and added the panel to a die cut piece lying around on my desk. All that’s missing is a sentiment.
I hope you like these cards and have found some inspiration to make some cute Christmas cards of your own. I can’t believe it is only a month until Christmas …. eek!!
