Today I’m going to show you how easy it is to make a split panel birthday card. Like a lot of fun fold cards it is easier than you think and was actially one of the card from my July classes. For this birthday card, I pulled out the Country Flowers bundle, some of the Country Lace 12″ x 12″ designer series paper and one of the Everyday dies. All of these products are avaiable to purchase at my online Stampin’ Up! store.
What is a split panel fold, I hear you ask?
Basically, the card front is split into three panels. I started with a grey granite base (10.5 x 29.6 cm) scored at 14.8cm and cut at 19.8cm. This creates the first panel at the top. Then the remaining piece is cut into two parts, one measurng 5 x 10.5 cm, which leaves 4.8 x 10.5cm. Next I die cut a label using one of the Everyday Details dies, which I added to the slightly larger panel, trimming the excess to leave an even border. This panel then becomes a bridge connecting the top and lower part of the card front after the designer series paper is added.

For both cards I stamped the teapot from Country Flowers onto a scrap of dsp from the Country Woods 12″ x 12″ dsp. Both of the papers used are in the 15% sale (at the time of writing this post).
These cards were quick to make and are an easy fun fold card. The sentiment is from the Keeping Tabs stamp set, and is stamped on to the inside of the card but showing through the split.
