This is one of
the cards I designed for my February card classes featuring the fabulous Flowering Rain Boots bundle from the Jan
– Jun 2022 mini catalogue. As soon as I opened the mini
catalogue I knew I had to buy this as my best friend grows flowers in old wellies!
The images were stamped directly onto a piece of Basic White card in Just Jade, Misty Moonlight, and Mango Melody inks. On the right hand side I added a strip of Sunshine and Rainbows designer series paper, which you can still get for FREE with an order of £45 during
the last few days of the Sale-a-bration. Misty Moonlight ribbon from the Cotton Ribbon Combo Pack hides the edge of the paper strip. The Rectangular Postage Punch quickly creates a label for the sentiment and a bit of colour to the edge of the label with sponge daubers helps to give a bit of definition. I didn’t want the boots to look like they were floating in the air so used the light Soft Suede Stampin’ Blend to create a mud patch. Finally, what card would be complete without a few Brushed Brass
Butterflies – one of my favourite items from the mini catalogue.
My sample card fell in an ink pad during one of the classes there was a smudge just where my thumb is – you can see the original in the video below! I used this as a design opportunity and stamped a flower pot in Cinnamon Cider ink, fussy cut the image (I could have used the co-ordinating die) and glued it over the smudge – ta da, no one would ever know! I also decided to add a gardening fork made with a piece of Silver Foil and a scrap of Basic Black card – cute eh!
This is the stepped up version. I flipped the pretty paper so you could see the other side. I die cut the stamped images using the co-ordinating dies and added them with dimensionals. This time I used a piece of Polished Pink Open Weave ribbon to cover the edge of the designer series paper to match the colour of the tulips. As the sentiment didn’t fit on the label, I stamped it on another piece of Basic White and trimmed it to fit the label – simples!
