Hello
I made these stylish christmas cards for colour challenge last week – Global Design Project #GDP417. The challenge colours were Pretty Peacock, Lost Lagoon and Petal Pink. And although I’m a pink and purple girl, Petal Pink isn’t a colour I’m drawn too so it really was a challenge to use this in my projects. The colour combo is a little similar to the card I shared last week that you can see here.
When Global Design Project have a Colour Challenge, they pick one winner to be a Guest Designer for the next Colour Challenge. Congratulations, Vicki Boucher your card is amazing! Even though I didn’t take account of the clocks turning back an hour, and missed the official posting deadline, I’m so grateful my card was chosen as one of three others to be a #GDPwinner. I had so much fun making these cards. Plus I now have more stylish christmas cards for my stash!
When it comes to a colour challenge, the possibilities are endless. It’s the perfect time to look through your stamp sets and select something you haven’t used in a while or want to use. I grabbed Christmas Classics and Joy of Noel stamp sets from the Stampin’ Up! mini catalogue. Both of these stamp sets have co-ordinating dies but for these simply stylish cards I just used the largest floral stamp.
While the first christmas card was stylish, I wanted to add something special and a bit of sparkle. So for the next card, I kept the design exactly the same but swapped the layer colours, heat embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder and added a bow from the silver edged sheer ribbon.
One final stylish christmas card
Before deciding which card to enter into the challenge I made one more, which you can watch me make in the video below. Here you can see all three christmas cards together and I hope you agree they are all lovely, although I definitely prefer the two with the sheer silver edged ribbon.
Here’s the video.
