Hey folks
I hope you have all had a good week? What is it about the English Summer – after a 5 day heatwave the rain has returned and its been very grey!!
Today’s card is the second in a set of five using the Daisy Delight Stamp set . We made a version of this card at our team meeting at the beginning of June and it is CASED from Lisa Curcio, who is a talented Stampin’ Up! demonstrator from Florida, USA.
The first card I made used retired Mint Macaron cardstock for the base so this time I used Very Vanilla but I’m not sure there’s enough contrast between the background and the white flowers – what do you think?
I decided to add a gorgeous die cut bumble bee to the card using the Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits Dies and stamped one on the envelope using the Dragonfly Dreams Photopolymer Stamp Set.
The frame is created by drawing round a piece of backing board from a pack of DSP cut to 13.4cm x 9cm – I tried a Stampin’ Write Marker but made a mess of it so ended up using a black biro.
I used 3 daisies punched from Whisper White cardstock using the Daisy Punch, which sadly is currently on backorder as it’s been so popular, and layered two slightly offset to create the fuller flower and cut the other into three petal pieces and glued two bits together to create the smaller flower. 2 x 1/4″ circles from Basic Black cardstock create the centres of the flowers.
The flower stems are stamped in Old Olive. As the stamp set is photopolymer its really easy to manipulate the stamps to create a curve in the stem.
The bumble bee is die cut from Basic Black. I didn’t have any Daffodil Yellow cardstock so I stamped a few circles onto whisper white and cut them out to layer behind the die cut so the yellow shows through. I stamped the bumble bee from the stamp set on the envelope, I just love him!
Anyway, here’s the video – enjoy!
