Love What You Do and Statement of My Heart

Hello there

Happy Sunday, hope you’ve all had a great week. I’ve been busy prepping for my monthly card classes. Every month I think to myself that I’ll get ahead of the game and design the projects sooner but again this month I failed. I was to busy with the day job to get them done before our canal boat holiday and catching up with everyone after we got home, so didn’t find the time until the beginning of the week.

This month we get the chance to get our hands on some new goodies from the annual catalogue coming out on 1 June 2018. The Love What You Do suite of products are available in three bundles until the end of the month so if you want more information please get in touch and I’ll send you the details for each.

Three projects showcase some of the new Share What You Love Specialty Designer Series Paper with the Love What You Do stamp set and the other one used the sadly retiring stamp set Number of Years (I’m keeping mine and the thinlits as I use them on a load of projects). Here are the cards:-

Five came round on Thursday evening and four yesterday morning. I still get a little nervous about my projects (must be more confident) – luckily they all love them.

I love the specialty DSP in the suite – it is absolutely gorgeous so the cards are simple as I wanted the DSP to shine through – there’s a pearlescence to most of the designs which is hard to show on a photo! I’ve even used some of the DSP as a backdrop for the photo’s!

The above mint macaron tent fold cardbase (I’m so happy it’s returning in the color revamp – it was one of the in-colors in 2015 when I became a demonstrator), the whisper white layer is cut @ 10.5cm x 14.4cm and embossed using the Layered Leaves dynamic embossing folder. The DSP is used for a banner and the flowers cut from the other side are added to the sentiment panel. I didn’t have Tranquil Tide cardstock so using the Layering Ovals Framelits a scalloped oval is cut from whisper white cardstock that was inked – a trick I often use if I don’t have any cardstock to match my colour scheme! I stamped the sentiment in black memento ink on an oval cut using the largest Stitched Shapes Framelits and then I re-stamped it on a scrap of card in Grapefruit Grove one of the new in-colors – which is lovely. It’s the first time I’ve had a chance to play with the new style ink pads, which open like a compact!

The above Powder Pink side fold cardbase shows both sides of the DSP cut @ 10cm x 14.4cm – so pretty. The sentiment is from the Petal Palette stamp set stamped on whisper white and layered on mint macaron cardstock using the Pretty Label and the Everyday Label punches and the ribbon is retired.

The above Thick Whisper White tent fold cardbase has a layer of crumb cake cardstock cut @ 10cm x 10.4cm and a background created with stamps from the Love What You Do stamp set with crumb cake ink. The strip of DSP is cut @ 10cm x 5cm. A Rich Razzleberry scalloped oval is cut using the Layering Oval Thinlits and the whisper white oval is cut using the Stitched Shapes Framelits. Crumb Cake ink and Black Memento ink are used to stamp the flowers and the flowers coloured with Stampin’ Blends. The sentiment is stamped in Rich Razzleberry ink and fussycut before being added with dimensionals. A double bow tied with linen thread is added with a mini glue dot.

In today’s video I show you how to make the above card using some left overs from the previous card. I’ve used the exclusive Statement of My Heart stamp and the Love What You Do stamp set. The sentiment is stamped on a Thick Whisper White side fold cardbase in Versamark and Rich Razzleberry inks before being heat embossed with clear embossing powder. The frame is created using the Rich Razzleberry and Whisper White cardstock from the previous card. The floral images are stamped in Rich Razzleberry and Old Olive ink. A blender pen is used and a few Glitter & Clear Epoxy shapes add the finishing touch to the outside. More tiny flowers and leaves are stamped on the inside of the card.
