Hello friends
My post is later than usual – to be honest I wasn’t sure I was going to share anything today because on this day last year my lovely mum-in-law Carole was taken from us. I think about her every day but try not to remember how much she suffered or the day she passed away. She was a huge fan of my crafting and I really enjoyed making cards for her to give to family and friends. I know she wanted me to carry on doing what I love and sharing what I do, so I decided to carry on carrying on.
I held my monthly card classes this week and for the first time this year we made a few Christmas cards. For the one below we used the stamp set and matching framelits from the wonderful Santa’s Workshop Suite which is in our new 2018 autumn/winter catalogue. The images are so cute and couldn’t wait to make some cards with them.
Balmy Blue is one of the new colours in the subtles collection – isn’t it fabulous? The characters are adorable in this set and there’s a lot of die cutting and embossing work in this card – thank goodness my class attendees like a challenge! I also stamped the inside – isn’t it cute?
For the video, which you can watch below I made this card. Rather than stamping, die cutting and colouring the images, I used two of the Santa’s Signpost Framelits to die cut images from one of the sheets in the Santa’s Workshop Speciality Designer Series Paper. Some of this double sided specialty DSP is flocked and despite my usual hoarding tendancies (haha) I decided I needed to #loveitchopit.
I also fussy cut the stack of presents and glued them to the inside.
The Night of Navy card base is cut @ 14.9 x 21cm and scored @ 10.5cm. A piece of Whisper White cut @ 10.5cm is torn to create the snow bank and a piece cut @10 x 14.4cm for the inside. White craft stampin’ pad is used to create a snowy sky using a stamp from the Waterfront stamp set.
The Signs of Santa stamp set and Signpost Framelits can be bought individually but if you buy them as a bundle you can save 10% and who doesn’t love a bargain! I’d love to know what you think of the video – it was so quick and easy to make this cute card.
