I thought I’d share two cards from my September classes. I designed the silver version first but as I was prepping for the classes realised I didn’t have enough silver glimmer paper, so made a gold version.
On the silver version, the A6 card base is made with Basic Black. I embossed a piece of whisper white cut @ 10 x 14.4cm on the Bigshot using the fabulous new Swirls and Curls Textured Embossing Folder from the 2018 Autumn / Winter catalogue. Silver ⅜” Metallic-Edged Ribbon was added across the middle and attached at the back before being glued to the base with the embossed side showing. Before embossing the paper, I lightly spritzed with water to soften the fibres of the cardstock. I ran a piece of Silver Glimmer paper with the largest scalloped square from the Layering Squares Framelits and a piece of Whisper White cardstock with the largest square through the Bigshot to create the focal panel. The sentiment from Merry Christmas to All stamp set was stamped in Versamark ink and heat embossed with silver embossing powder. It fits perfectly. I love the font. To finish the panel I stamped three holly leaves in Shaded Spruce and added pearls coloured with the Cherry Cobbler Blender pen to create berries. After gluing the panel in place I added a matching bow with a glue dot.
The gold version was made in exactly the same way but with a Shaded Spruce card base, Very Vanilla cardstock, Gold ⅜” Metallic-Edged Ribbon and gold embossing powder. This time the debossed side is on show – both look fabulous, in my humble opinion!
