Hello, my crafty friends! 👋
Welcome to the Be Inspired Blog Hop! If you’re not starting the hop from here you have probably come over from my super talented Stampin’ sister, Heather Thomas. I feel so blessed to be part of this wonderful group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators from around the world. They are all so creative and I can’t wait to see what technique they have chosen.

What technique would you pick?
Heat embossing has always held a special place in my heart, and for this month’s Be Inspired Blog Hop, it felt only right to celebrate a technique that truly stands the test of time. Not only is it endlessly versatile, but it also brings that unmistakable “wow” factor to every project. There’s something almost magical about watching embossing powder melt and transform into a glossy, raised finish—it’s a moment that still captivates me every single time. In fact, it’s exactly what first drew me into the world of cardmaking, and even now, it remains one of my most-loved techniques.

Although I recently returned from the Stampin’ Up! OnStage event in Cologne—feeling completely inspired and with wonderful new products—I found myself reaching for a familiar favourite instead. Rather than diving straight into something new, I chose the Greenery Lane bundle once again. Sometimes, going back to a trusted set allows creativity to flow more naturally, and this time was no exception. Plus, with its coordinating washi tape, it offers even more opportunities for layering and texture. Click here to see another card made with these products.

Where to start
When it came to colour choices, I decided to step slightly outside my comfort zone. While I typically gravitate towards gold embossing powder, I opted for copper instead—and I’m so glad I did. The warmth of the copper pairs beautifully with the rich tones of Lost Lagoon and Night of Navy. Together, these colours create a sophisticated and calming palette that feels both timeless and fresh.
To begin, I created a Lost Lagoon A6 card base. Next, I added a layer of Night of Navy, which I dry embossed using the Forever Plaid 3D embossing folder. To give it a more textured, slightly distressed look, I gently roughed up the edges using the Take Your Pick Tool with one of the crafter tips. This small step adds depth and interest, helping the background feel less structured and more organic.

Adding detail
Moving on to the focal elements, I stamped and heat embossed the leaves and one of the sentiments from the Greenery Lane stamp set using the copper embossing powder. Once melted to perfection, I added Lost Lagoon ink to some and die cut them using the coordinating dies. Meanwhile, I stamped some of the tiny flowers from the set in Night of Navy, which subtly ties the whole design together without overwhelming the main elements.
In addition, I wanted to incorporate some of the coordinating washi tape, as it’s simply too beautiful to ignore. Therefore, I applied a section of the tape onto Basic White cardstock and then die cut leaf shapes using the same Greenery Lane dies. This not only adds variety but also introduces a soft, layered look that enhances the overall composition.

For the central feature, I die cut two of the largest circles from the Spotlight on Nature dies. Cutting the centre out of one and layering them. After trimming off the right-hand side, I carefully arranged the embossed leaves, die cuts, and sentiment, securing them with a combination of glue and dimensionals for added depth.
Finishing touches
Finally, to bring everything together, I added small dots of Copper Enamel Effects to the tiny flowers and leaves. This finishing touch not only echoes the heat embossing but also adds a subtle shine and texture that elevates the entire design. Sadly this product is retired as are the Night of Navy gems which add a little bit of shimmer.

Overall, this card is a perfect reminder of why heat embossing remains a go-to technique. It’s reliable, versatile, and consistently delivers stunning results. Whether you’re revisiting an old favourite bundle or experimenting with new colour combinations, this technique truly is one you’ll use forever.
Thank you so much for stopping by today – and for hopping along with us this month. I hope you feel inspired to think about what your favourite techniques are. Next up on the hop is another fabulous demonstrator Maheswari Rajaguru, so click through and keep the inspiration flowing!
Happy crafting 💜
