Global Design Project Weekly Challenge – CASEing the designer

Hello, my crafty friends! 👋

This week’s Global Design Project CASE the Designer Challenge (#GDP532) features one of the talented design team members, Marga Bultena. Her clean, elegant style made her a lovely CASE, and I had so much fun putting my own spin on her beautiful card.

Products

For my project, I used the Petals of Beauty Bundle by Stampin’ Up!, paired with a sentiment from the January Product of the Month – Fabulous Sayings. (The product of the month is only available with a qualifying order and whiles stocks last.) With a challenge like this you can take any element as inspiration but I wanted to stay close to Marga’s original layout while adding my own colour combo and texture.

Colours and Layers

For this challenge, I chose a fresh green palette using Soft Sea Foam and Mossy Meadow, with Flirty Flamingo added to give the flowers a soft pop of colour. To keep the layered look, I used label dies from both the Textured Notes Dies and Everyday Arches Dies. Although it is a little hard to see them, I also added some vellum leaves.

Background and finishing touches

To add interest to the background, I embossed the bottom layer with the retired Timber 3D Embossing Folder, which adds gorgeous texture without overpowering the design. I finished the card with a touch of trim using deconstructed Petal Pink Braided Trim and a few sparkly accents from the Pearlized Faceted Circles.
