Global Design Project #GDP533 – Colour Challenge

Hello, my crafty friends! 👋

Today I’m sharing my card for the Global Design Project #GDP533 Colour Challenge. Strawberry Slush isn’t usually a colour I reach for, but paired with these softer and richer tones, it really works.

I’ve been wanting to create with the Simply Beautiful bundle by Stampin’ Up! for a while, and this colour challenge felt like the perfect opportunity. I combined it with a sentiment from the Words of Beauty stamp set and opted for a slightly larger card size to fit a 5″ x 7″ envelope.

To soften the Pretty Peacock layer, I added texture by embossing vellum with the Forever Plaid 3D Embossing Folder, which allowed the colour to show through while keeping the overall look light. The florals were die cut from Petal Pink cardstock and softly blended with Strawberry Slush around the edges for added depth.

I kept the embellishing subtle, finishing the card with a heat-embossed sentiment, a soft bow using Petal Pink trim, and a few Petal Pink Pearlized Faceted Circles for a gentle touch of sparkle.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. I hope this card inspires you to try a colour combination that’s outside your comfort zone—you might just surprise yourself!

Happy crafting 💜
