Be Inspired Blog Hop – Colour Pairings

Hello, my crafty friends! 👋

Welcome to the Be Inspired Blog Hop! Our theme is Colour Pairings, and really… anything goes. For that reason I love a theme that lets you run wild.

That said, I didn’t run too wild this time 😂 I basically played it safe and reached for two of my absolute favourite Stampin’ Up! purples — Fresh Freesia and Gorgeous Grape. I mean… can you blame me? Fresh Freesia is soft and pretty, and Gorgeous Grape brings that rich, bold pop. They’re basically best friends in colour form.

To balance all that purple goodness, I added Old Olive for a fresh leafy contrast and a touch of Early Espresso.

For my focal point, I used the Delightful Wishes Bundle paired with the Everyday Arches Dies. I’m slightly obsessed with arches at the moment — they help frame an image so beautifully and instantly make a card feel a little bit special. Even when they are on their side!

The background was created with the Beautiful Patterns 3D Embossing Folder, which adds the prettiest texture without overpowering everything else. Across this, I layered a scrap of Lovely & Beautiful 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper — because let’s be honest, we all have those gorgeous DSP scraps we can’t bear to throw away!

I added a piece of white and gold ribbon across the middle for a little touch of elegance (and because I can never resist a bit of gold). Everything was adhered with a mix of glue and dimensionals to build up lots of layers and interest — the more dimension, the better in my book.

And of course, I couldn’t stop there. A few gems were the finishing touch, just to give it that little extra bit of sparkle. You know the one — where you pop them on and suddenly the card feels complete.

I really love how this colour pairing turned out — rich, fresh, and perfect for a birthday. Sometimes “playing it safe” with colours you love is exactly the right choice.
