Happy Sunday!
Today I want to show you how to make some simple and sparkly Christmas cards. I designed this simple Christmas card for my November card classes and also made it at three workshops for brand new stampers.
For some time now I’ve been wanting to go live on YouTube but have been dithering because I didn’t have the right set up. Well today I decided to just go for it. So later in this post you will find a live recording of me making this card. It’s not perfect (in any way) but I did it and I’m proud that I finally stepped out of my comfort zone! And look at it this way, they can only get better, right!!
#simplestamping
This is a simple christmas card using stamps, ink and card. Normally when I make multiple cards like this, I would use a technique called one sheet wonder. I have some examples if you click this link here, here and another here. But because I had made up a number of packs for the workshops and had already cut up the Very Vanilla cardstock, I stamped them individually. As you can see I made quite a few and will be handing them out to my neighbours.
For these simple christmas cards, I start with a card base of Soft Sucullent and stamp on Very Vanilla using Soft Succulent, Poppy Parade and Crumb Cake inks. Then I add a strip of Be Dazzling specialty paper (a previous Sale-a-bration product) and a thin strip of Poppy Parade. If I remember I like to stamp the envelope, and here I added holly and berries to match the card. Next, the sentiment was stamped in Versamark and heat embossed with gold emboss powder and to make it easier for my new stampers I used the decorative circle punch to make the label which was added with dimensionals. Finally I added a little linen thread bow with a glue dot. Everyone did a great job at the workshops.
