Today I’m sharing a quick and easy Christmas card idea that is another project from my August card class. My apologies for mentioning the “C” word but, in my opinion, it’s never too early to start on making Christmas cards right? It was a simple decision to use the Trees for Sale stamp set from the Jul – Dec 2022 Stampin’ Up! mini catalogue to make a Christmas card, along with the co-ordinating Tree Lot dies and some Silver & Gold 6″ x 6″ Specialty Paper, both of which you can earn for FREE during Sale-a-bration.
Trees for Sale make a Quick and Easy Christmas card
Now the Trees for Sale stamp set is great in its own right and I promise to share some #simplestamping cards later but I am so happy to have dies that co-ordinate and compliment this stamp set. The Tree Lot dies are a great addition to my craft room because as well as dies to cut out the stamped images there are lots of other dies. In fact there are 24 dies in this set. My favourites make the cute caravan that you can see in both versions of my christmas card. And how lovely that I was able to get them FREE with an order.
Adding ink to designer series paper
The other Sale-a-bration product used is the Silver & Gold 6″ x 6″ designer series paper and it is perfect for a Christmas card. There are 24 sheets in the paper pack with gold and silver stripes and spots on white. I used a piece with silver dots and it was so quick and easy to turn this into a snowy evening sky by adding Starry Sky ink with a blending brush. The sky is much darker in the second version because I added slightly more ink. My top tip is to wipe the paper with a cloth to remove any ink from the silver spots when you’ve finished adding the ink.

Stampin’ Up! offer this promotion twice a year now and I love that they have started offering items that co-ordinate with products in the catalogues. Supplies to make these christmas card ideas
Stamps:
Trees for Sale
Cardstock:
- Poppy Parade 10.5cm x 29.6cm scored at 14.8cm
- Basic White 10cm x 14.3cm plus a quarter sheet of A4 for die cutting and stamping
- Gold & Silver 6″ x 6″ Specialty paper 8cm x 14.3cm
- Scraps of Vellum, Garden Green, Poppy Parade, So Saffron and dsp for blind/curtain
Inks:
Garden Green and Starry Sky
Tools and Adhesives:
Tree Lot dies, Blending Brush, Paper snips, Multipurpose Liquid Glue, Stampin’ Dimensionals
Instructions :
- Cut and score card base
- Add ink to dsp and add to basic white layer, if using
- Stamp trees before tearing a 3cm strip off the bottom of the quarter sheet to create the snowy ground
- Die cut the leaves and the caravan base
- Add adhesive sheet to the scrap of Poppy Parade and die cut the top and bottom panel (one die) for the caravan plus a bow
- Stamp the greeting and add to basic white layer with dimensionals
- Colour towing hitch on caravan and wheel with Stampin’ Write Marker before assembling caravan and adding to card with trees
- Add wreath to caravan door
