Today I want to share some cute pop up shopping bag cards that I made to give gift cards to my gorgeous nieces and nephew for Christmas. I don’t know about you but when I give a gift card I try to find different ways of presenting them. When I stumbled across a card that had a cute pop up shopping bag in I thought I’d give it a go and am so happy I did.
I used some paper and card in my stash for the first three samples. The designer series paper I think I’ve had for about 5 years – how mad is that!! It can’t be just me who has a large stash of craft products. I don’t know why I’m holding on to some of this stuff, it actually felt good to use it up.
The final version is made with Peaceful Place designer series paper and looks good. I think this designer series paper has to be my favourite from the mini catalogue. Here are some close ups.
I used both sides of the same sheet of 12″ x 12″ to decorate the front and inside of the card. The silver embossed side is lovely and it was a shame to hide that on the inside but I wanted the subtle side on the inside as this contrasted nicely with the paper I chose for the shopping bag.
As the design on the inside is so subtle, I was able to stamp the sentiment onto the designer series paper. How cute does that bag look?

Instructions:
·
Cut and score base at 10.4cm and 21cm and round
corners on flap
·
Round corners on x2 small pieces of dsp and glue
to base
·
Score dsp for shopping bag at 1cm, 2cm, 12cm,
13cm, 14cm, 25cm – rotate and score at 1cm and 6.5cm
·
Trim grey areas
·
Punch holes, add silver trim to make handles and fold down flaps
· Fold into shopping bag and add to inside of card
·
Glue scalloped silver foil to flap
·
Stamp and silver heat emboss the sentiment on the
Basic White circle
·
Add ribbon and tie a bow
·
Add sentiment circle with dimensionals
