This week I held my last monthly card classes of 2021 – I can’t quite believe there are only a few weeks til Christmas! It has been such a strange year but I’m humbled that when I re-started my in person classes in September all my lovely regulars came back and we have such a fun time togetner.
I thought making DIY gift bows would be a fun project to make in class – I’m not sure everyone agreed with me but they all did brilliantly. Some ended up in a sticky mess – we had such a giggle!
Anyway, I promised to share instructions on here as I don’t hand out instruction sheets – that’s definitely on the To Do List for next year. It is the perfect time of year to make a bunch of bows to put on presents. I started by making some using designer series paper from my “collection”. I’m definitely on a mission to use my stash.
Yesterday, I had a yureka moment when I came across the Stampin’ Up! 2021-2023 In Color Shimmer Vellum and I’m so happy because they are absolutely beautiful. My first attempt is a smaller version using Polished Pink shimmer vellum.
For this I cut:
– 3/4″ x 10″ (x3)
– 3/4″ x 9″ (x3)
– 3/4″ x 8″ (x2)
– 3/4″ x 4 1/2″ (x1)
For the video, I chose Pale Papaya shimmer vellum and cut:
– 3/4″ x 11″ (x3)
– 3/4″ x 10″ (x3)
– 3/4″ x 9″ (x3)
– 3/4″ x 8″ (x2)
– 3/4″ x 4 1/2″ (x1).
This is a fuller bow with an extra layer of loops and I absolutely love how it turned out. The photo really doesn’t do it justice.
