Today I’m sharing a card from my October card classes. It is another Christmas card featuring the Penguin Place bundle from the July to December mini catalogue and the Picture This dies from the annual catalogue! I thought the cute critters in the Penguin Playmates designer series paper (from Sale-a-bration) would look fantastic with the Picture This die. I used some old snowflake sequins (retired) – OMG they are so teeny!!
This was my original sample – I used partial critters from the edge of the designer series paper and rather than stamping the background I sponged a cloud sky using a template with one of the Basic Border dies.
As the designer series is no longer available, for the next card I used the Penguin Place bundle – the penguins are so cute, especially the one with the antlers. You can watch me make this card in the video below.
Supplies:
Stamps / Bundles and dies:
Penguin Place bundle, Picture This dies
Cardstock:
Highland Heather 14.8cm x 21.1 (scored at 10.5cm) and 10.2cm x 14.5cm
Basic White Basic 10cm x 14.3cm and 8cm x 21cm (for stamping)
Basic Black (tiny scrap for punching)
Inks:
Memento Black, Balmy Blue, Cinnamon Cider, Highland Heather, Mango Melody and Misty Moonlight
Accessories:
Subtle Shimmer Sequins
Tools and Adhesives:
Mini dimensionals , Multipurpose Liquid Glue
Instructions:
- Cut, score and fold your card base
- Die cut the Highland Heather layer
- Place over Basic White layer and trace round apertures
- Stamp the snowflake cluster in Balmy Blue
- Lay the Highland Heather layer over the Basic White and stamp sentiment in Misty Moonlight
- Stamp the penguins in Memento Black and Mango Melody, the bow in Highland Heather, hat and scarf in Misty Moonlight, antlers in Cinnamon Cider
- Punch out the penguins and fussy cut the rest
- Punch the sunglasses from the piece of Basic Black and add to a penguin
- Glue the Highland Heather layer on Basic White and arrange penguins with glue and dimensionals
- Add Subtle Shimmer Sequins
