Hello – welcome to my blog,
Today I’m playng along with the Global Design Project Color Challange #GDP305. I used a lovely stamp set, Garden Birdhouses, from the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalogue to create this birthday card.
This weeks colour combination is Pale Papaya, Balmy Blue and Pear Pizzazz.
I really enjoyed stamping the scene on the Scalloped Contour label. I started by making a cloud template using one of the Basic Border dies and applied Balmy Blue ink with a blending brush. Next I stamped the birdhouse in memento. The branches were stamped in Pear Pizzazz ink and then coloured with Soft Suede and Pear Pizzazz Stampin’ Write Markers. I stamped the flowers and grass at the bottom of the label in Pale Papaya and Pear Pizzazz ink. I stamped the bird in the branches (that’s the only thing I’m not really happy with and coloured that and the birdhouse with Stampin’ Blends. I find it is so easy to forget about everything else while stamping – it’s my happy place. I stamped the sentiment in Memento on one of the Messages labels that I had lying around on my desk.
Today’s card is a slightly stepped up version of the one below, which was one of the projects from my recent card class. I think it would make a lovely new home card. On both cards I used a piece of In Good Taste Designer Series Paper for a quick and effective background layer behind the stamped label.
