Hello,
I was so happy that I was able to host a card class on Thursday evening for my lovely ladies. It was the first time we have come together to craft in real life since March 2020 and we had the best time! It was so lovely to hear all the chatter and laughter while they were crafting.
Today I’m sharing one of the four card projects from class. I made two versions using the Welcoming Window stamp set and Window Flower Box dies, which you can purchase as a bundle at the moment and save 10%. The first is a #simplestamping card, apart from the plants in the pot which are hiding a mistake! (Come on we all make them and I think it’s just a design opportunity!) The card base is Soft Suede with Misty Moonlight and Basic White layers. I used Cinnamon Cider, Crumb Cake, Misty Moonlight, Old Olive, Real Red and Soft Suede inks for the stamping.
I love the simplicity of the first card but showed my ladies a stepped up version in case they wanted more of a challenge. I kept to the same colours but this card base is Misty Moonlight with a Basic White layer. Stamping the bricks in Crumb Cake on the whole Basic White layer looks fabulous. I stamped the shelf, shutters, two plant pots and flowers and used the Window Flower Box dies cut them out with my mini Stampin’ Cut & Emboss machine. The window frame and shelf were die cut from more Soft Suede card. I used Mango Melody for the flowers in the second pot. The sentiment was stamped on a label cut from the Messages dies that was lying around on my craft desk.
You can see how easy it was to make the #simplestamping card below in a video later in this blog.
All the cards have a Basic White layer inside stamped with the shelf, jug, mini flower pot, foliage and a sentiment all from Welcoming Windows stamp set.
The final card is another stepped up version. To create the wall I used the Brick & Mortar 3D embossing folder, adding Crumb Cake ink with a blending brush to add a little touch of colour. The shutters were die cut from the mat layer of Misty Moonlight card.
The window, box and hinges were die cut from a piece of Soft Suede and the sentiment heat embossed in White on a Soft Suede Tasteful Label with a piece of White Crinkled Seam Binding under it. Click below to watch the video of me making the #simplestaming version.
