Today I’m playing along with this week’s sketch challenge over at the Global Design Project #GDP298. A sketch is a great starting point for creating a card as you can interpret a sketch in so many ways. For my card I decided to use the Floral Hearts dies with sentiments from Always in My Heart and A Wish For Everything.

Cardstock:
Blushing Bride – 10.5cm x 29.7cm score at 14.8cm
Basic White – 9.2cm x 13.8cm, 10cm x 14.3cm plus another piece for sentiment
Basic Black – 9.5cm x 13.8cm and 7.1cm x 10.2cm plus a scrap for sentiment
Rose Gold 6″ x 6″ Metallic Speciality Paper
Inks:
Memento, Soft Succulent, Versamark
Accessories:
Shimmery Embossing Paste, White Emboss Powder, 2021-2023 In Color Jewels
Tools:
Floral Hearts Dies, Basic Patterns Decorative Mask, Blending Brushes, Palette Knives, Heat Tool, Multipurpose Glue, Dimensionals
Instructions –
Cut and score the card base. To create the background I used a pallet knife to apply shimmery embossing paste over the dot Basic Pattern Decorative Mask on the Basic White layer and set aside to dry before gluing to the Basic Black layer and adding to the card base. Die cut the Floral Heart from the Rose Metallic Speciality Paper – so pretty. Stamp the sentiment in Memento on a piece of Basic White and die cut the banner. Glue the floral piece with multipurpose glue on the whit panel and add the heart with dimensionals. Score the banner and add over the heart with dimensionals. Heat emboss the sentiment in white on Basic Black and add with dimensionals – I love the way it pops.
It’s hard to show in photo’s but there is so much shimmer – I love it. You can watch me make another card. For this one I used Soft Succulent as the base, Evening Evergreen Shimmery Vellum for the Floral Heart die and the background was created using the same mask and a blending brush.
This photo really doesn’t do it justice. I love how you can see the dots behind the glittery heart.
To finish off the card I added some In-Color Jewels.
