Hello – welcome to my blog,
I’m playing along with this week’s Global Design Project color challenge (#GDP289) using Coastal Cabana, Magenta Madness and Bumblebee. Although I am a purple and pink pink, I’ve not often used Magenta Madness so this bright color combination is a little out of my comfort zone.
For my card I pulled out the Floral Essence stamp set which is sadly retiring next week. I have had this set for a few years now and absolutely love the floral images so wanted to feature these pretty flowers on a card for a friends birthday.

I started with a piece of Basic White cut at 9.9cm x 14.2cm adding some Coastal Cabana Ink to the middle of the panel with one of the blending brushes. Next I stamped the flowers using Magenta Madness and Bumblebee on another piece of Basic White and fussy cut them. I used the Jar punch to make the Coastal Cabana jar, I then embossed the jar with one of the Little Details embossing folders – sadly also retiring soon – to add some lovely detail and texture.
I added the jar with dimensionals and then the flowers, some I glued flat and added others with dimensionals. The foliage is from the Forever Gold Laser Cut Specialty Paper – also sadly retiring. The sentiment from Floral Essence I stamped on Basic White in Memento, trimmed to get the words I wanted, and added with dimensionals. Finally, I added some of the lovely Gilded Gems.
I layered the panel on to a piece of Magenta Madness measuring 10.2cm x 14.5cm before adding to a card base of Thick Basic White measuring 10.8cm x 21 cm, scored at 10.5cm.
