Hello – welcome to my blog
This week the Global Design Project has a sketch challenge for us.
Sketches are a great way of finding inspiration – there are so many possibilities and you can use any products you have! This is the pretty card I came up with:
I used these supplies to make my card:-
Stamps & Dies: Dragonfly Garden, Tasteful Labels
Ink: Soft Suede, Granny Apple Green, Versamark
Paper: Crumb Cake, Granny Apple Green, Basic White, Oh So Ombre DSP (retired)
Embellishments: Linen Thread
Tools: Watercolour pencils, Blending Brushes, white Emboss Powder, Heat Tool, Take Your Pick, Paper Snips
Adhesives: Multipurpose Liquid Glue, Stampin’ Dimensionals
I started with a piece of Crumb Cake catd and stamped the gorgeous floral image from Dragonfly Garden in Soft Suede ink and coloured with watercolour pencils. If you use a white pencil first and then add the different colours you get a really lovely result.
I added this to a piece of Oh So Ombre DSP from my stash. This paper was one of the FREE items available during Sale-a-bration but you could easily create an ombre effect on Basic White card with Granny Apple Green ink and Blending Brushes. I added a piece of Linen Thread over the join and tied a bow towards the top before glueing to a Crumb Cake base.
Next I stamped the sentiment in Soft Suede on Basic White and die cut with one of the Tasteful Label dies. Before removing the label from the die I used the embossing head of the Take Your Pick tool on the back of the label to create even more definition. The white looked too stark so I softened it by adding some Granny Apple Green to the edges with a Blending Brush. I stamped the sentiment again in Versamark on a scrap of Granny Apple Green card and heat embossed with White Emboss Powder. I trimmed the words For Your Kindness and glued to the label before adding to the card with dimensionals above the floral image. It was too pretty to cover any of it!!
