Hello and welcome to my blog
How is it March already?!? I was hoping to get ahead of the curve this week but the days have flown by. If you’ve been to my blog before (thank you!) you know that I have been making cards for the weekly challenges set by the Global Design Project. During the past year, I haven’t been able to host in person classes (nor been brave enough to run on line classes), so these challenges have been a god send and helped me find my creativity and focus on something other than what has been going on in the outside world!
Here is my card for #GDP281 which is a colour challenge – I love how it turned out.
This week’s colour combination is Bermuda Bay, Real Red and Blushing Bride. As always there are some gorgeous projects to inspire us blog from the Design Team on the Global Design Project.
I started with a piece of Fluid 100 watercolour paper to create a wash with the largest water painter and Bermuda Bay ink. Next using the Butterfly Beauty dies I cut butterflies in Blushing Bride, Real Red and Bermuda Bay card. The butterflies are layered, slightly offset so you can see the 3 different colours and added to the watercolour panel with dimensionals. I layered the panel to a piece of Real Red card.
Using the Ornate Floral 3D embossing folder, I ran the piece of Blushing Bride card through the Cut & Emboss machine twice and then glued the embossed piece to the card base. I added the watercolour panel on top with dimensionals. The sentiment made with the Many Messages bundle was from my stash from a few weeks ago. I decided my card needed a little bit of sparkle so made some of my homemade shimmer spray – it is really hard to photograph but the card is so pretty now.

Lynn, what a fantastic card! I saw it the Global Design Challenge and had to look closer at this beauty. I really like the shimmer too!
