Hello and welcome to my blog,
As you may know I’ve been joining in with the weekly Global Design Project challenges. This week #GDP279 is a theme challenge – Animals. Pampered Pets from the annual catty immediately came to mind and after a bit of thought I designed this cute easel card. I had so much fun using the adorable images and a couple of different techniques!
There is plenty of inspiration from the design team featuring lots of different animals along with some great entries, so if you have time you should head over to the Global Design Project site.
If you follow me on Instagram you know we have two cats (siamese cross brother and sister who turn 10 in the summer) and a puppy (an 18 month old terrier mix) so my card is also inspired by them. Luckily they get on most of the time but are not often all together so when they are I try to capture the moment. Here are a couple of recent photo’s.
We love morning snuggles and it looks like they’re planning something in the next photo!!

I made a video (below) so you can see how I created the card. The thick whisper white base is cut and scored as above and the larger piece of dsp was glued to the white panel before being glued to the base.
I stamped the cute cat on the white panel using my Stamparatus and then again onto the silicone mat. I placed the white panel face down on the silicone mat and stamped the cat again to make sure the image was transferred to the smaller white panel. This is called mirror stamping.
After stamping the cats in the foreground, I re-stamped both on sticky notes, trimmed the images to make masks and layered the masks over the images. I then stamped the dog and it looks like it is in the background. The next bit of masking was done with a large post it so I could use blending brushes to add Balmy Blue and Granny Apple Green. The last bit of stamping was the two tiny butterflies. so much cuteness!
I cut a frame from some Silver Foil using two of the Stitched Rectangles dies and added to the stamped panel with strips of Foam Adhesive Sheet to add dimension. This panel added to the base. I added a strip of the Silver Metallic Ribbon across the smaller piece of dsp before adding to the base.
The sentiments for both card are made with the Many Messages Bundle – see how I made them here – I heat embossed a bunch so have them ready for projects.
In the video below I take you through each step to re-create the card. Although I skipped over the colouring – you didn’t need to see me do that!
I have listed all the products used to make my card so you can click on any of the photos below to go my Stampin’ Up On-line store if you wish to purchase anything.
