Hello,
On Sunday I shared a couple of cards made with the Handsomely Suited bundle – mosy the shirt and tie dies. If you watched the video in my last blog post, I quickly shared some other cards at the end of the video and I wanted to share them with you and explain how they were made.
I tried to make a card that looks like a polo shirt – does it work? The base is thick white card cut @ 10.5 cm x 29.6 cm scored @ 14.8 cm, a piece of Whale of a Time DSP cut @ 10 cm x 14.3 cm for the shirt front the pocket and stitched button strip, Pacific Point card for the collar, buttons and top of pocket, I stamped one of the sentiments in Pacific Point ink on white card and cut out with a Stitched Rectangle die. I the stamped Birthday on Pacific Point card in Versamark and used my heat tool to heat embossed with White and punched out with the Classic Label punch and glued it over the original stamped word “Fathers Day”. Did you know there’s an easy way to make the punched piece longer? If I remember I will do a quick video and share on my Instagram!
The next card is I guess and example of #Simplestamping and showcases the bow tie stamps on a panel of white card. The bow ties were stamped in Memento and coloured with Night of Navy and Mint Macaron Stampin’ Blends. The base is Night of Navy cut @ 14.8 cm x 21 cm scored @ 10.5 cm. The sentiment was stamped in Versamark and I used my heat tool to heat embossed in White and punched out with the Tailored Tag punch. I added a strip of Mint Macaron behind the stamped panel. It’s hard to see but I added texture to that piece with the Painted Texture 3D embossing folder.
The Tuxedo card below is very snazzy. The base is thick White card cut @ 14.8 cm x 21 cm and scored @ 10.5 cm. The jacket and pocket are die cut from basic black card while the lapel, pocket top and bow tie is cut from some black glitter foam from my stash. The shirt, collar and buttons are all die cut from white card. I used the button die twice to get 12 little buttons and they layered them u to make them stand out. The sentiment was stamped in Memento and cut using my Stampin’ Up! paper snips.
I decided to see if I could make a couple of feminine cards and came up with this one. the base is Blushing Bride card cut @ 10.5 cm x 29.6 cm. A piece of retired DSP from my stash is cut @ 10 cm x 14.3 cm. I die cut a small V for the neckline and glued white card behind the DSP and added the collar piece with dimensionals. The necklace is made with some pink gems (also retired). The sentiments are stamped on white card with Melon Mambo ink and cut with a Tasteful Labels die.
Last but by no means least is another feminine card. The base is Petal Pink cut @ 10.5 cm x 29.6 cm scored @ 14.8 cm. I used a piece of the pretty Field and Flower DSP on the next card – the designs are so pretty. You can earn this DSP or chose another item from the mini catalogue for FREE with a qualifying purchase of £45. The lapels are cut from white card and trimmed to create a slightly different neckline. This time I made the necklace using some retired pearls from my stash. The sentiment is stamped in Memento and cut with another Tasteful Labels die.
