Hello my crafty friends
I hope you are keeping well! Even though restrictions are easing we decided not to go away in our caravan for the time being nor do we want to go out to a pub or restaurant. I know we need to support local businesses but we are waiting until things settle down. Maybe I’m becoming a hermit!!
As it’s my birthday week, I thought I’d make some thank you cards, (you know, just in case 😄) using the fabulous Jar of Flowers stamp set – my current favourite in the annual catalogue. The layout for these cards is CASED from a card on p11 – the catalogues are a good source for inspiration.
I’ve filmed a quick video so you can see just how easy it is to make the first card . It is a #simplestamping, single layer card (well the card base plus one layer on the front and inside). The base is crumb cake card cut @10.5cm x 29.6cm scored @ 14.8cm. The white layers are cut @ 10.2cm x 14.5cm.
The flowers were stamped in memento, covered with a mask before the row of jars were stamped. The stems were stamped in Granny Apple Green and water added to one jar with pool party ink. The flowers were coloured with Stampin’ Blends; Calypso Coral, Crumb Cake, Daffodil Delight and Petal Pink. The sentiment is from the Free As A Bird stamp set. A few retired adhesive backed sequins from my stash add the finish touch to the card.
I stamped flowers on the inside but left them plain – I like to stamp a little something on the inside to help tie it all together (if you know what I mean).
The card below is a slightly stepped up version. It has a base of gorgeous grape card – all cut as above. A piece of ribbon is attached to the bottom (this actually covers up the fact that I didn’t stamp the jars at the same level).I swapped the daffodil delight with highland heather blends This time the sentiment was stamped on a scrap of white and edged with highland heather blend to help it stand out a little and I added some retired glitter dots in the same colour.
This last card is stepped up even further. I added a strip of retired wood effect paper to the bottom of the white layer to make it look like a table or shelf. The flowers this time were stamped on a separate piece of card and fussy cut after being colouring with blends and added with dimensionals. I stamped the four jars on another piece of whisper white card and punched them with the coordinating punch, and also punched out four more jars from velum and layered them. I stamped lids for the three empty jars on white card and fussy cut them and adding with glue. The sentiment was heat embossed on a scrap of basic black card with white emboss powder and added with dimensionals. I added more retired adhesive backed sequins and a braided linen trim bow.
