As promised in my post last week, I’m back to share the other birthday card I made with the So Much Happy bundle. It took me longer than anticipated to find time to edit the video which you will find later in this blog post. It’s exactly the same layout as the last card but this time I used balmy blue, blushing bride, and misty moonlight …. same, same but different, as they say in Thailand!!
The balmy blue base is cut @ 19.8cm x 21cm and scored @ 9.9cm. There are two whisper white layers cut @ 9.5cm x 19.6cm, plus a piece of white for stamping the 3 balloons; one each in balmy blue, blushing bride and misty moonlight; and die cut 3 strings and a bow. A small piece of blushing bride for the bunting and a piece of misty moonlight cut @ 4.5cm x 14.5cm plus a scrap for the sentiment.
I die cut the word Happy across the middle, at an angle, on one white piece. I used the cloud stencil, I made with one of the dies from the set, to add blushing bride ink with a blender brush to create a pink cloud background in the top section (you can actually see this one – I was a bit light handed with the last card!). I mixed one drop of blushing bride reinker with some embossing paste on a silicon craft sheet and spread it with a palette knife over the polka dot basic pattern decorative mask to make a textured background to the bottom section. I layered misty moonlight behind Happy and trimmed off the excess. The word birthday was heat embossed in white on a small piece of the misty moonlight and made into a banner. I added the bunting, balloons, string, bow and sentiment with glue and dimensionals. Here are the two cards side by side:
