Hello my crafty friends
The cards I’m sharing today were for my nieces’ and nephew’s 16th birthdays – yes, that’s right triplets!! I posted them to Denver about a week before their actual birthday, which was cutting it fine but I hoped they’d get there around their actual birthday. I was starting to think they’d got lost and was so happy to hear they finally arrived on Saturday!
The first two are same same but different, as they say in Thailand. The first card was inspired by a swap I got from OnStage last year. Olena, the talented demo who made the swap, gave us very detailed instructions but I gently picked apart her card to recreate it – sometimes I’m need a visual to help make sense of written instructions! I used coastal cabana and whisper white card, white glimmer paper and large letter dies (both retired) plus Family Party and Beauty Abounds stamp sets. The sentiment and butterflies on the inside was heat embossed with clear embossing powder. The ribbon and twine have since retired. The white piece pulls up to reveal the sentiment – its a really cool design.
The second card has a slightly different sliding mechanism and didn’t work as smoothly but was slightly quicker to make. For this one I used petal pink card stamped with images from the Dressed to Impress stamp set. Some of the stamping on the white card inside is from Family Party plus a couple of retired sets. I will be writing up instructions and making a video tutorial to show how each is made.
I struggle do with masculine card designs but I’m pleased with this one. The large number dies are retired and I created the stamped edge with a retired stamp set but also used Family party for the rest of the stamping.
