Oh my goodness, October was a whirlwind with the new furbaby! More on that later.
I wanted to share the projects made in my October classes; three Christmas cards, a tree decoration and a cute mini keepsake box. I kept the projects fairly simple just stamping, punching and a bit of colouring. One of the card projects used an embossing folder and die cuts but I did that for everyone to save them time.
Below is a close up of the tree decoration (made with the larger ornament punch and the tiny keepsake box as they get lost above.
I love this first card, the base is Soft Suade with a Very Vanilla panel cut slightly smaller embossed with the Woodland Embossing folder. for class, I set up a template for two of the deer from the Dashing Deer stamp set using the Stamparatus (which is a brilliant tool if you are doing lots of repeat stamping) so everyone could stamp their own deer. The strip with the sentiment is 3cm x 10cm and added with dimensionals
Here’s the inside, which is rather pretty I think. It’s hard to see but there’s some of the vegas gold shimmer paint in the centre of the flowers – I ran out of gold pearls.
The next card base is larger than normal (10″ x 7″ – scored @ 5″). I used Cherry Cobbler with a panel of whisper white cut @ 10.5cm x 14.9cm (a quarter of A4) and a piece of whisper white 2″ wide base for the sentiment (from an old retired stamp set called Sassy Salutations). I stamped the main panel with one of the stamps from the Christmas Countdown stamp set. I used the Everyday label punch to create the sentiment banner – I got the tip of how to stretch the punch from another demo – so clever.
Here’s the inside – I used the same sized panel as on the front.
This next card is another unusual size for me (99cm x 21cm – scored @ 49.5cm) exactly one third of A4. I used stamps from the Christmas Gleaming stamp set using Night of Navy and Smoky Slate ink.
I think it looks really elegant. The sentiment on the inside is from another retired stamp set Hearts come Home.
Below is a single layer version and a wonderful example of #simplestamping – only a whisper white base and Night of Navy ink.
I promised to tell you a bit more about our new furbaby – so Bailey is now nearly 14 weeks old and has turned our world upside down. We adopted him at 8 weeks old from a local animal rescue charity, his Mum (Betty) being handed over while pregnant with her third litter at two years old!! We went to visit the three pups when they were 6 weeks old and had the pick of the litter. We had to wait for a home visit and got to bring Bailey home at 8 weeks. I’ve been sharing some photo’s over on my Instagram, Twitter and Facebook pages and am sure I’ll share some on here too for now just one.
