Hello my crafty friends
What an amazing weekend – we were blessed with wall to wall sunshine and blue skies. I made the most of it – so my post is later than planned …. “last minute Lynnie” strikes again – my monthly card classes and life just got in the way this week, plus I left it til today to film my video then had technical difficulties with an editing software update.
Anyhooo, I’m sharing a cute little set of note cards made with the Beautiful Friendship stamp set – such fabulous floral images and sentiments. They make it is simple to make quick and gorgeous cards. I used Very Vanilla notecards and envelopes, which are great value (imho). I also show you how to make a really cute little gift bag to put them in.
As I wanted to make a set of thank you cards, I decided to use a sentiment from the Tropical Chic stamp set as I love the font. I’ve listed the inks used to create the cards below but you can obviously use whatever colours you have. The first card is one of the projects at my classes this week.
Here are the rest of the cards – a good example of #simplestamping – just ink, stamps and card. I think the large flower looks like a hydrangea and the cluster of flowers are like a peony. What do you think.
The final card uses the rest of the floral stamps from the set.
The gift bag is really simple to make from designer series paper (I used a piece of the gorgeous Perennial Essence DSP) but I found it tricky to film – getting the right angle and saying the right thing …… I guess I need to film the making and then do a voiceover!
Cut DSP @ 7-1/2″ x 12″
Score @ 1-7/8″ & 5-5/8″ on short side
Score @ 5-5/8″ & 6-3/8″ on long side
Fold all the score lines – now the tough bit (for me lol) to explain! Fold one long side into the centre and then create the little box part by folding as shown below to create the diagonal score …..
In the photo below you can hopefully see where I adde some glue – I use multipurpose liquid glue but any glue would do.
You can see below the small section that is created where there isn’t glued – when both sides are glued and the piece folded up – voila a little box is created.
I punched a couple of holes at the top, threaded some ribbon and you have a lovely little gift set of cards.
Anyway here’s a link to the video, I hope you enjoy it :-
Blimey, that’s a mammoth – thanks for sticking to the end if you have got here!
