Simple Z fold cards

Hello my crafty friends

I hope you’ve all had a wonderful week. We managed to get away for a few days in our caravan, Dora. We love spending time in our little home on wheels, although it’s tough without our furbaby, who went over the Rainbow Bridge 13 weeks ago tomorrow.. There was a 6 mile circular walk from the campsite that he would have loved – it was the first long walk in the country we’ve done without him that we both enjoyed ….. I know he was with us in spirit!

Today, I’m sharing some simple Z fold cards featuring the Beauty Abounds stamp set by Stampin’ Up! I enjoy making slightly different cards and these fun fold cards are so easy to make. All of my examples are a standard A6 card so easily fit into a standard C6 envelope.

I’ve made a tutorial video for this first card which you can watch below but first thought I’d show you photo’s, the list of products used and all the measurements.

Here it is laying flat – I created the border on the back layer so when a message is written in the blank space it can’t be seen when the card is closed.

Supplies:-

Whisper White card cut @ 21cm x 14.9cm (8-1/4″ x 5-7/8″) scored @ 5.25cm x 10.5cm (2-1/16″ x 4-1/8″)

Brights DSP 6″ x 6″ pack – Poppy Parade cut @ 4.9cm x 14.6cm (1-7/8″ x 5-3/4″)

Poppy Parade card cut @ 10cm x 14.4cm (4″ x 5-3/4″)

Whisper White card cut @ 9.5cm x 13.9cm (3-3/4″ x 5-1/2″), 7.5cm x 10.5cm (3″ x 4-1/8″) for rectangle and a scrap piece

So Saffron card cut @ 7.1cm x 10.5cm (2-7/8″ x 4-1/8″)

Below is the version we made in class, the dimensions are exactly the same. Colours are Pacific Point, Soft Sea Foam and Basic Grey. The sentiment was stamped using the Stamparatus so they were evenly spaced apart and is from the Perennial Birthday stamp set.

This next card is a landscape version of a Z fold again using Beauty Abounds and Brights DSP in Gorgeous Grape. (Let me know if you need me to give you dimensions.) To add a bit of interest I added some loops of silver metallic thread behind the sentiment on the front of the card. I added a few basic rhinestones to the outside plus a few Gala Gingham adhesive backed sequins on the front and inside.

This next card is, I think, my favourite of all the cards I’m sharing today. The flower was created from tissue paper and the Perrenial Flower punch (inspired by another demonstrator but I can’t for the life of me remember who at the moment) complete with one of the Perennial Essence Floral Centres and Perennial Essence Velum with the Leaf punch. The colours are Daffodil Delight and Old Olive.

 I had to share a close up of the flower – I just love it!

For the inside I used some more of the DSP and a largest oval from the Stiched Shapes dies so there’s space to write a message but it’s hidden when the card is closed.
