Hello my crafty friends
Another week gone in a flash! Luckily we have a bank holiday weekend here in the UK, which means an extra day off and, hold the front door, we have sunshine forecast – woohoo! I hope you have all had a wonderful week.
Today, I’m sharing three cards created with the Beautiful You stamp set from the annual catalogue. I love the two main images.
For the first card the large flower was stamped twice in Versamark on watercolour paper and heat embossed in gold before adding colour. I don’t do a lot of watercolouring but am pushing myself to step out of my comfort zone and improve my crafting skills. I’m really pleased with the way it turned out. I used reinkers to colour the images with an aquapainter and added some gold pearls to the centre of the bottom flower.
Here’s a close up of the bottom flower and gold metallic pearls. I coloured normal pearls with a gold Sharpie but they look different so will have to wait for my next order to finish the card! I have posted a quick tutorial on my YouTube channel so you can see exactly what I did and how quick an easy it is – there’s a link below.

The card below is the one we made at my August classes. As I say in my video, I used watercolour paper for my sample card but cut Shimmery White card for my Thursday class. Their cards still turned out great but the cardstock reacts a little differently. After stamping the two butterflies in Versamark and heat embossing in White Emboss Powder then coloured with reinkers, the colourwash background is done with Soft Sea Foam and the butterflies with Bermuda Bay, Coastal Cabana and Night of Navy.
I am so happy with this card – I love butterflies and these turned out really pretty. The entiment is also heat embossed in white on Night o fNavy card cut with a Stitched Rectangle die.
The final card uses both of the largest images but this time heat embossed in Black Emboss Powder. I wanted to change up the butterfly so stamped it twice on watercolour paper and fussy cut the left hand wings and attached them with dimensionals. This is the card I coloured with the Pigment Sprinkles. I have only just received them and my experiments haven’t been that successful to date but I loved using them to colour the images. I used Mango Melody, Mango Melody and Granny Apple Green for the main images and a very diluted Bermuda Bay for the background.
The colours just pop don’t they? The sentiment is heat embossed in white on black cardstock and fussy cut. Basic adhesive backed sequins add the finishing touch.
