Happy Sunday my crafty friends – where did that week go? My Mum always said time would speed up as I got older, but I reckon it’s just me slowing down!
I forgot to say in my last post that two lovely friends joined my Stampin’ Up! team at the end of July. When I started this crazy SU journey, I never expected to have a team as I don’t actively recruit and know they only signed up to take advantage of the ink pad promotion last month but it is still amazing. I also received an order through my on-line shop this week. It is astonishing how this little hobby of mine is developing and is such a blessing as it is something I love.
I spent time in my craft room this week mostly preparing for my monthly card classes so I will be sharing those cards over the coming weeks. I also made a couple of special birthday cards for family and my best friend Emma.
Today I’m sharing cards showcasing the Animal Outing stamp set and matching thinlets, which I absolutely love and will be using a lot.
The kangaroo and koala are so sweet and perfect for baby cards. I haven’t made a centre step card for a while and it gave my old brain a work out! All the images were coloured with blends and I used Layering Squares Framelits with Stitched Shapes Framelits on most of the cards.
The rhino and bird are cute (well I think they are) and goes perfectly with the Thank you sentiment. Outlining the stamped images with light Pool Party helps make them pop.
The above larger card was made for my best friend. Smoky Slate cardstock is cut @ 20cm x 21cm and scored @ 10cm. The happy birthday sentiment is from Balloon Celebrations and I used the Make a Difference set to personalise the card. I love the font in this set.
Hre is a card I designed for class. The card base is Early Espresso cut @ 10.5cm x 21cm and scored @ 14.9cm. The Layered Leaves dynamic embossing folder was used on Lemon Lime Twist layer cut @ 10cm x 14.4cm. A piece of Animal Expedition DSP cut @ 5cm x 12cm was added to the embossed layer and linen thread wrapped round before being glued to the base. The giraffe, frog and sentiment are added to the largest oval from the Stitched Shapes Framelits, which is popped up on dimensionals. Rather than jut stamping the giraffe and frog on a branch on the oval, I stamped them on a scrape of whisper white then die cut them using the matching framelits.
This final card is an easy Z fold. The Smoky Slate card base is cut @ 10.5cm x 29.7cm, scored @ 7.4cm and 14.9cm. There are two pieces of Animal Expedition DSP and Whisper White all cut @ 7cm x 10cm. I’ve made a video which you can watch below – please let me know if you enjoy it, I’d love to get some feedback to know if anyone is enjoying my blog and the cards I share!
