How to make a Simple Z Fold card using Stampin’ Up! products

Hello my crafty friends

I hope you’ve had a good week? I had planned to blog more than once a week but my day job keeps getting in the way!

Today I’m bringing you another card from my April classes – a simple z fold. I really enjoy making cards that are a little unusual and this simple z fold is so easy do.

I’ve got three examples to share; the first I made when designing projects for class. It includes retiring dapper denim, flirty flamingo and emerald envy cardstock and color theory DSP.

For the base, cardstock is cut @ 14.9cm x 21cm and scored @ 3cm & 10.5cm. A square panel is added to the front with a flower and leaves made with the Daisy and Leaf Punches. I love the way the colour theory DSP looks. A clear faceted gems finishes off the centre of the flower nicely, don’t you think?

In the end, I decided a slightly simpler card, with stamping rather than punched elements, would work better for class so we made the one below:-

For this one, I used elegant eggplant and wisteria wonder cardstock, ink and stampin’ write markers. I stamped the flower using the Painted Harvest Photopolymer stamp set on a very vanilla rectangular panel for the front. A small strip of SAB DSP was added to the right hand side of the back and some metallic edged ribbon to the left hand side of the card – both coloured with the markers – my tip is to make sure you leave enough time drying to avoid getting any marks on the inside of the card!

The final card has exactly the same fold – this time I added a round panel to the front:-

Here’s a better view of the z fold – I usually make symetrical z folds so enjoyed doing a variation.
