Perennial Birthday and Petal Pair card

Today I’m sharing a card showcasing dry and heat embossing – techniques that add a lot of lovely texture. (When I started crafting I used a light box and stencils to dry emboss – OMG that makes me feel old – so so much easier with embossing folders and my Big Shot!)

I use the gorgeous Perennial Birthday Clear Mount stamp set and one of the Petal Pair Textured Impressions Embossing Folders. I’m so pleased with the way it turned out – elegant and simple.

The card base is Very Vanilla card stock cut @ 15.8cm x 21cm scored at 10.5cm, the matting layer is Crumb Cake card stock cut @ 10cm x 14.4cm, the sentiment is stamped in Versamark then heat embossed with a heat tool in Copper Stampin’ Emboss Powder on a strip of Very Vanilla cut @ 2cm x 14.6cm and the flowers and leaves stamped, heat embossed and fussy cut from more Very Vanilla. Crumb Cake Classic ink was added to the embossed layer with a piece of Stamping Sponge to highlight the dry embossing. So pretty! The flowers and leaves were added with glue and Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Here’s a close up – I love the texture of both types of embossing. Not sure my photo really show it properly. Of course, I’ve done a video so you can see how easy it is to create this. I hope you like it?

The card below is “same same but different” (as they say in Thailand). I made it for a dear friend’s birthday – the embossed layer is Early Espresso and shows the debossed side – again so pretty!

The card below uses the other Petal Pair Textured Impressions Folder (so pretty and is very like one of the papers in the Petal Passion DSP pack) and the fabulous Lots of Lavendar Sale-A-Bration stamp set which you can earn for free with a qualifying order – get in touch if you want to learn more.

If you’d like to purchase any of the items used, you can click on the highlighted links above to go straight to the products in my Stampin’ Up On-line store of click here if you want a general browse.
