Get Well card – Emboss Resist Technique

Happy Saturday folks

I’ve been a busy bee this week running two card classes. I had four ladies come to class on Thursday evening and one this morning. I was a little nervous about Thursday evening as I had never met three of the ladies but there was no need to fret as they were all absolutely lovely.

I worried about overwhelming my new ladies, because we used four different stamp sets, velum cardstock, designer series paper, watercolour pencils, DSP as well as dry and heat embossing. One lady had never done any cardmaking before but I can honestly say everyone did an amazing job!

My video today shows one of the cards we made using the Hopeful Thoughts Clear Mount Stamp Set by Stampin’ Up!

Supplies

Whisper White Thick Cardstock measuring 21 x 14.8cm scored at 10.5cm

Whisper White cardstock measuring 10 x 14.3 cm for matting layer plus scrap for sentiment

Powder Pink Classic Stampin’ Pad

Fresh Fig Classic Stampin’ Pad

Iridescent Sequin Assortment

Heat Tool

Stampin’ Dimensionals

Multipurpose Liquid Glue

Rub embossing buddy across cardstock. Stamp image twice down the left hand side of cardstock in Versamark. Pour embossing powder over the stamped images and tap off excess to pour back into container. Heat with a heat tool until it melts / turns glossy. Add ink using a sponge dauber. Create a border by dry embossing two lines on each edge of the cardstock using the Simply Scored tool. Stamp sentiment in Versamark and cover with embossing powder. Heat emboss and add ink as above. Trim to required size and add with dimensionals. Adhere sequins as required. The sentiment inside is stamped in Fresh Fig.  Such a pretty card don’t you think?

Here are all the cards we made at class.

Over the next few days, I’ll post details.
