It really is Fabulous Flamingo!!

Hi folks

I’m sorry my post is a little later than usual – I know I’ve said it before but I don’t know where the time goes!  I’ve been working on my blog – there’s still a way to go as the tabs don’t work properly but it’s getting there!

Today I wanted to share a clean and simple single layer card using the Fabulous Flamingo photopolymer stamp set from Stampin’ Up! (Sorry about the quality of the pics – it is shocking!)

I just love the images and the way you can create a scene really quickly. I did use one of the stamps from the Timeless Textures wood mounted stamp set to create the sandbank but other than that I’ve only used the one stamp set.

I usually try to limit the colours of ink I use for a card but this one just cries out for lot of colours – it feels tropical, don’t you think?

Supplies used; A6 Whisper White card base with a matting layer of Whisper White; Classic Ink pads in Flirty Flamingo, Powder Pink, Bermuda Bay, Crumb Cake and three of the new In-Colours Powder Pink, Tranquil Tide and Lemon Lime Twist.

To slightly step up the card, I cut down the stamped panel to 7 x 14.85 cm and added a strip of Flirty Flamingo card stock to either side. Before adhering the panel to the card base, I stamped the leaves in Crumb Cake to create a background on a A6 Crumb Cake card base. To finish off I added three sequins from the Iridescent Sequin Assortment pack.

For the final version, the extra elements are using the Layered Leaves Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder on the Crumb Cake card base, adding some  Flirty Flamingo Bakers Twine to the bottom of the card base, When I make the card again, I think I’ll pop up the panel onto dimensionals and tie the bakers twine just around the panel. I also added some Clear Wink of Stella to the flamingo to add a bit of sparkle.

Here are all three cards together – I love them all (but then I am biased). Which is your favourite?

I made a quick tutorial for the first card which you can see below. I’m so grateful to everyone that has subscribed to my YouTube channel and hope I can keep growing my audience and sharing my passion for card making.
